Welcome

Welcome is the he Thames sailing barge skippered by Jack Whittle and crewed by Mrs Whittle and Mr Hawkins which appears in Coot Club and gives a lift to Port and Starboard.

She is called Welcome and Rochester is her home port: Starboard read the name on a lifebuoy - "Welcome of Rochester" (CC21).

She has a petrol engine, which is Jack’s darling according to Mrs Whittle; polishing and oiling, e’s at it morning, noon and night, but he uses it as little as possible. And it cuts the light and takes most of the room in what was the state-room (CC21).
