Swallows and Amazons for Ever! is a book combining Coot Club and The Big Six. The TV series Swallows and Amazons Forever! prompted Arthur Ransome's publishers to issue a book with the same title as a paperback by Puffin in 1983 titled Swallows and Amazons Forever! containing abridged editions of Coot Club and the Big Six: Two Books in One! then (with the word forever split) by Red Fox in 1993: Swallows and Amazons for Ever! containing abridged editions of Coot Club and the Big Six.
The book had all the chapters of Coot Club (omitting the Postscript); the next chapter from The Big Six (Chapter 30: "Out of the Dentist’s Window") was headed: a few months later.
The second section omitted seven chapters from The Big Six, but finished with "What Happened to the Fish". The omitted chapters were:
