Arthur Ransome Wiki

The Queen Mary or QM was a tiny pram dinghy for the Nancy Blackett, ordered from a Bembridge boatyard on the advice of Herbert Hanson, as the dinghy “Cocky” or Coch-y-bonddhu was a heavy boat to row.

Ransome collected it from Pin Mill and said “Very easy rowing, though inclined to throw up spray in any ripple". With both Ransomes aboard, there was “precious little freeboard” (NBUS page 108).
